What the experience is like
The Yamaha Grizzly double-seater is wider, longer and slightly heavier than the single-seater chassis. The driver controls the throttle and lean-steering as on a single; the passenger sits behind on a separate seat with a back-pad, hands on the grab rails or driver's hips. The chassis sits a touch higher to accommodate the second seat.
On the dune corridor the chassis behaves a touch slower than the single-seater because of the additional weight. The driver does most of the work; the passenger absorbs chassis movement and shifts weight in coordination with corners. Most passenger guests find the experience surprisingly active - it is not a sit-back ride.
Photo stops on the Grizzly are good for the parent-and-child shot specifically; the chassis fits both occupants in frame against the dune. We use the Grizzly for family bookings where one parent wants to drive with a child passenger, and for couple bookings where one partner prefers to ride.
Who this suits
Adult drives, child rides passenger on the back seat.
Driver and passenger share the Grizzly; mid-slot driver swap if both licensed.
Per-chassis rate split between two riders.
Confident driver handles chassis; less-confident partner rides.
Use cases & scenarios
Family weekend with one kid on quads
Yamaha Grizzly with parent driving and child as passenger; second parent on standard COBRA single alongside.
Couple where one prefers not to ride
Grizzly 1-hour, confident partner drives, less-confident partner as passenger.
Two adult friends sharing chassis
Grizzly 1-hour with mid-slot driver swap at the photo stop.
If this, then that
- Two solo riders both want to drive
Two single-seaters in convoy is better than one Grizzly with mid-slot swap - more total saddle time. - Parent with child under 6
Switch to camel ride or safari arc - quad chassis impact loads not appropriate for under-6s. - Couple where both want active driving
Two single-seaters in convoy - Grizzly is for shared chassis, not parallel driving.
Family, couple & group guidance
Yamaha Grizzly with child as passenger; standard 1-hour route.
Grizzly 1-hour with mid-slot driver swap if both confident on quads.
Either Grizzly with teen as passenger or two single-seaters with teen on standard COBRA.
Grizzly so non-rider partner can experience the dune corridor without driving.
Local context & geography
Grizzly chassis run the same Al Qudra dune corridor as single-seaters. The wider chassis takes a slightly different line through tighter sections for clearance reasons, but the photo stops and the route arc are the same.
Pickup & meeting points
Same hotel pickup window as standard quad slots. Drive time 45-75 minutes from central Dubai. Pickup vehicle sized for the family count. See our Dubai pickup zones for the full hotel cluster map.
How we run it
Grizzly is in the fleet for the shared-chassis use case. The chassis is heavier than the single-seater and slightly slower as a result; the route line is the same. Passengers are briefed alongside drivers - everyone wears full gear, even back-seat riders. Helmets sized for the smaller passenger as needed.
Pricing in plain English
Grizzly per-chassis rate is similar to single-seater per-chassis. With two riders the per-head rate is meaningfully lower than two single-seater chassis at the same slot. Mid-slot driver swap included. Final price on WhatsApp.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Booking single-seater for two riders - need Grizzly for shared chassis.
- Underestimating the passenger workload - it is not sit-back.
- Booking Grizzly for two confident solo riders both wanting full driving time - two singles is better.
- Forgetting child weight limit at booking - confirm at WhatsApp.
